We’ll soon be changing the reference number you see on Direct Debit payments made to your credit card. We’re making this change to help keep your account safe and to improve security. You may notice other financial services providers are making similar changes too.
The reference number you see in the account you make your Direct Debits from, will no longer be your full 16-digit card number, it will be 18 characters long, personal to you and will include the last four digits of your card number. When the change is made it will look something like this: 00012345678III1234.
There’s nothing you need to do and your Direct Debit payments will continue to be made as they are today.
