You need to stay within your credit limit, or you'll be charged a fee. We don't always decline credit card transactions that takes your over your credit limit, but you'll still be charged.

You also need to stay within your credit limit as this may impact your eligibility for a new credit card when your current one expires.

You can request a credit limit increase once you've had your credit card for 6 months, received your seventh statement and if you've not applied for a credit limit increase within the last 6 months.

You can request a credit limit increase in the Virgin Money Credit Card app:
• Tap the 'Manage' icon at the bottom of your summary screen
• Scroll down and select 'Manage credit limit'
• Then follow the steps on screen
