You can use our Card checker to find out if you’re likely to be approved for a credit card before you apply – without affecting your credit score. We’ll just need a few simple details.

If you decide to progress to an application, we'll complete a full credit check and confirm whether you've been approved. In some circumstances, we may need some additional information and if that’s the case – we’ll let you know.

It's important to make sure you provide the same details in the application as those you entered in our card checker. If Card checker and the application details do not match then this may impact the outcome of your application.

Before applying, check the following statements are true:
I’m aged 18 years or over (the same goes for any additional cardholders).
I’m a UK resident.
I have a UK bank or building society account.

If you're applying for a Virgin Money or Virgin Atlantic credit card, please check the below statements are also true:
I have good credit history.
I have a personal income of at least £7,000 or household income of at least £15,000. This can include pensions, investments and any rental income.

If you’re in an individual voluntary arrangement (IVA) or have been declared bankrupt, you won’t be approved for a credit card. You’re also unlikely to be approved if you have defaults, County Court Judgements (CCJ’s) or don’t have a credit history. If you’re unsure about your credit history, you can contact Experian to find out more.
